Rachel has over 14 years of experience in both Chicago and New York City, including a variety of educational, civic, mixed-used, and residential development projects. Rachel is interested in the ways that cities are experienced at the human scale, and how housing can serve as a catalyst for both economic and health security. Rachel’s recent project experience includes a mix of supportive and affordable housing, working to build inclusive communities responsive to individual experience.

  • St. Joseph Apartments

    Bronx, NY

    Role: Project Manager / Associate in Charge

    St Joseph’s Apartments is a 10-story, 287 unit, 270,000 GSF affordable family and supportive housing project for the NY Association for Catholic Homes, which began with a rezoning through ULURP and is currently in design. Beacon of Hope, a Catholic Charities affiliate, will manage 70 studio units and provide supportive services for adults with severe mental illness. The NY Foundling will manage 50 units and provide supportive services for youth exiting the foster care system as well as adults with intellectual or developmental disability.

  • Linden Terrace Development

    Brooklyn, NY

    The Linden Terrace development is a three-phase development covering an entire city block that began with a rezoning through ULURP. The first phase, Linden I, is 12-story mixed-used building with 235 family apartments and over 17,000 GSF of ground floor retail space, and was completed in May, 2021. The second and third phases, LInden II and Linden III, are both 8-story affordable and supportive housing buildings with 160 unit and 156 units respectively. These last two phases are both fully electric buildings and NYSERDA’s Buildings of Excellence winners in the first two rounds of the competition. Both phases are in construction, with Linden II slated for completion at the end of 2022, and Linden III slated for completion in summer 2024.

  • St. Augustine Terrace

    Bronx, NY

    St. Augustine Terrace is a 117,000 GSF multi-family and supportive housing project in the Bronx with the Association of NY Catholic Homes, with 78 units for families and 35 supportive housing studio units served by Beacon of Hope. St Augustine Terrace was completed in 2019 and was a 2020 AIANY Merit Award winner and achieved LEED Gold status.

  • 14-14 Central Avenue

    Far Rockaways, NY

    The Augustina Complex is a 142,000 GSF 8-story mixed-use affordable housing project in the Far Rockaways, including 142 affordable family units, a new church space for the Church of the Nazarene, community facility space for a youth vocational training center, a pre-K, and a laundromat. The Augustina Complex was completed in September 2021.

  • Bushwick Leaders High School

    Brooklyn, NY

    Role: Project Manager / Associate

    This NYC School Construction Authority (SCA) Capital Improvement Project involved a $12M facade rehabilitation of a former Little Sisters of the Poor “Home for the Aged” that was converted into a high school, including replacement of the copper roof and gutters, masonry and parapet repairs and replacement, and a new stormwater detention system.

  • Carey Gardens

    Coney Island, NY

    This $27M repair and rehabilitation program at NYCHA’s Carey Gardens development funded by FEMA’s Hurricane Sandy Recovery program. In addition to building repairs and flood mitigation measures at the three-building, 682 unit housing development, the project included a new elevated building housing a new community center along with a new boiler plant and emergency power generation hub.
